Recently, driver distraction or impairment have been in numerous headlines and news stories. Accidents have killed bystanders and passengers, and sent drunken drivers to jail. A Boston Green Line trolley conductor allegedly text-messaging his girlfriend crashed, injuring dozens. Bus drivers have been caught eating, texting, nodding off or otherwise looking away from the road for dangerous seconds. Recently in Lowell, a limousine driver was fired for apparently being liquored up while taking a group of clearheaded teens home from the prom.
