I’m actually at the Salt Lake Airport, just going on the moving walkway.

I wanted to share with you a few travel tips that will help you be more productive. Let’s see if I can get this done before I hit the end of the walkway!

First of all, make sure that you give extra time before and after you travel. Allow time to prepare for the fact that you’re leaving and time to power down after you come back, catch-up with all the things that had been going on.

The second tip is when you’re packing, make sure that you have a checklist of all the things that you need to take with you. In fact, I am going to post-up for all my Invaluable Coaching Members the actual checklist that I use and then they can edit that up as they see fit.

Another tip is to make sure that before you go you delegate responsibilities. Make sure that people who work with you knows clearly what their responsibilities are while you’re gone and how they should get in touch with you in case of an emergency. That will help prevent any problems as you’re on the road.

(I am running out of time!) The next thing that I would say is try to dress light. You’ll noticed that I try to use more slip-off shoes and that I am not wearing a belt because they just speeds things up as you are going through an airport security. I also just personally feel that I am less burden while I’m dressed light on traveling.

The last thing tip I would offer is make sure that you bring offline (or non-digital) material for the flight. Interestingly, the latest regulations have made it so that you can’t use any kind of mobile devices even prior to the plane taking off, for even about the first ten minutes, as well as when it’s landing.

That will make things a lot easier for you and I am at the end!

Hey Dave- Thanks for the great tips for traveling! But I had to watch that video twice. The first time I found myself watching just to see if you were going to trip on that moving sidewalk!

  3. Thanks for catching that, Jacques! My team is fixing it right now. Should be up shortly.

Dave, i like it… are you multitasking?

  5. I was waiting for that one, Aaron!

It’s background tasking. If you want more clarification, you can read my book or read this article: http://www.davecrenshaw.com/myth-of-multitasking-doing-it-all-gets-nothing-done.php
